Set into the hillside and extending toward expansive mountain views, the Bigwood Residence is conceived as an extension of its rugged alpine setting.  The home balances openness and shelter, pairing dramatic cantilevered forms and walls of glass with warm natural materials that create an intimate, grounded interior.  Inspired by the region's industrial and mining heritage, the design combines stone, concrete, steel, and wood into a modern mountain retreat where architecture and landscape are seamlessly connected.
