How it works

At LV Wood, we encourage our clients to start with the general color and mood they are looking for in their material, rather than being preoccupied with the more technical aspects of the material. Once the color & grade direction are established, details such as grade, format, dimensions, etc, can then be sorted out.

the lv wood process:

  1. Decide on a color and grade direction - is the look warm and traditional or stark and modern? Do we want knots & color variation or are we going for a more minimal look? Our team can help you understand the difference and implications of these choices. Samples chips are stocked in our NYC shop allowing you to take and see the materials in your space. Custom/larger samples are available for a fee which is rebated at the time the material order is placed.

  2. Based on site conditions, building requirements, and traffic in your space, etc, we will help you determine the best format (solid vs engineered) and finish for your material. Some of our materials are "on the shelf" and cannot be customized, while our custom lines afford more control of these factors.

  3. Once the material has been selected we begin the order process. For custom orders, we submit control samples for approval while we begin production of the raw material for the order. For standard color materials, we begin production/finishing of the order after the order is placed. Please see order process info to the right for more detailed information on the order process.

Placing Orders:

The order process at LV Wood varies depending on your selection, here is a line by line breakdown of the process:

BESPOKE & PATINA orders are processed with a 50% deposit and production of raw material begins. In 7-10 days we submit control samples to be approved for color and finish. Since the raw material is in production, this means that the species and grade of the material are finalized at this point. Once the control samples are approved and the raw material is complete, we begin finishing. When the order is complete, the balance is collected and the material is shipped to the site. Standard lead time for Bespoke & Patina materials is approximately 4-6 weeks.

RECLAIMED orders are processed with a 50% deposit and production begins. When the order is complete, the balance is collected and the material is shipped to the site. Standard lead time for reclaimed materials is approximately 4-6 weeks.

METRO orders are processed with a 50% deposit and production begins. When the order is complete, the balance is collected and the material is shipped to the site. Standard lead time for Metro materials is approximately 2-4 weeks.

EURO OAK orders are processed with a 50% deposit and production begins. When the order is complete, the balance is collected and the material is shipped to the site. Standard lead time for Euro Oak materials is approximately 4-6 weeks.

HERITAGE orders are processed with a 50% deposit and production begins. When the order is complete, the balance is collected and the material is shipped to the site. Standard lead time for Heritage materials is approximately 4-6 weeks.
